echo ║ QBALL.EXE -- The QBALL executable file ║
echo ║ QBALL.CFG -- The QBALL configuration file ║
echo ║ QBALLODD.DOC -- Odd-number document pages ║

echo ║ Printing the documentation. ║
echo ║ ────────────────────────── ║
echo ║ QBALL.DOC will print with enough margin to permit punching ║
echo ║ the pages to fit a 3-ring binder. Set your printer to 'left mar- ║
echo ║ gin = 0', and do not enable 'skip perforations'; appropriate form- ║
echo ║ feed characters are incorporated. There are two *.DOC files; one ║
echo ║ prints the odd-numbered pages, the other, the even-numbered pages. ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ Set up your printer, and then enter: ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ COPY QBALLODD.DOC PRN ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ Turn the paper over, making sure the start of QBALLEVN.DOC is ║
echo ║ going to print on the back of the title page, and enter: ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ COPY QBALLEVN.DOC PRN ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ You'll need 30 sheets of fanfold paper and 50 minutes for the job. ║

echo ║ Starting QBALL. ║
echo ║ ────────────── ║
echo ║ You MUST have a PC-DOS/MS-DOS compatible computer with an EGA ║
echo ║ card/monitor (or better). B & W works; color's better, though. ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ Log into the directory or onto the disk where you have put ║
echo ║ QBALL.EXE and QBALL.CFG and enter: ║

echo ║ QBALL ║
echo ║ ║
echo ║ QBALL will start using the *.CFG file, if found, or will make a ║
echo ║ rude noise if QBALL.CFG is not found, and will start with its own ║
echo ║ internal defaults. Follow the prompts (or even read the documen- ║
echo ║ tation!), and... ║

echo ║ ≈≈≈≈ Wrinkles ≈≈≈≈ (also see Documentation, page 28) ║
echo ║ ────────────────── ║
echo ║ QBALL *will* run from a floppy: 360K, 720K, 1.2M, or 1.44M, ║
echo ║ but any file write/retrieve operations are S-L-O-O-W. If that's ║
echo ║ what you've got, however, it's sure faster than using pencil and ║
echo ║ published tables! ║
echo ║ All of QBALL's files: *.EXE, *.CFG, and 16 QBALLSAV and one ║
echo ║ *.INI file will fit on one 360K floppy. If you want the documen- ║
echo ║ tation on floppies, and you're using 360's, you'll need a second ║
echo ║ 360K disk. With HD disks, of course, there's no problem. ║
echo ║ Two ways to speed QBALL's operation in file write/retrieve: ║
echo ║ 1) Run QBALL from its own directory on a hard disk; or, ║
echo ║ 2) If you can afford the RAM, run QBALL from a RAM disk. ║
echo ║ Using a RAM disk -- minimum size = 300K -- will allow QBALL to go ║
echo ║ lickety-split! (That means FAST!) There's no improvement in the ║
echo ║ internal workin's -- they're all in memory anyway -- but external ║
echo ║ operations are so quick they're downright nervous! ║
